When trying to grow you will stumble more than once and scratch your knees on your way to success, happiness, expansion of consciousness and all that good stuff. There are certainly some pits to watch out for and here are nine mistakes – in no particular order – that I’d say are very common. I have certainly made these mistakes and many more myself. People learn by going through experiences and watching other people’s experiences. I prefer to learn from other people because it saves a lot of time, effort and energy. I hope you will take the time thoroughly read this list and see where you can apply some of these observations.

Why Are You Leaving Money on The Table

I am very curious as to why you would leave money on the table. Why would you even consider turning people away that need your services? Why would you let an opportunity walk out the door? After several hours of pounding on my head trying to figure this problem out, I came to the conclusion that you and most other people simply have not thought about all the ways to make money. I am hoping to shed some light on the situation for you.

Turning Potential into Production:

By, Garrett B. Gunderson

I recently sat at breakfast with a good friend of mine who also helps small business owners and self-employed individuals succeed. (Combined, we’ve worked with thousands of entrepreneurs, organizations, and individuals.) As we talked about our lives, we discovered that we both work with people and companies who are struggling right now as well as those who are experiencing higher levels of growth and success than ever.

By R. STICKNEYUpdated 8:40 AM PDT, Tue, Sep 22, 2009

I just had to get this article to you today. I think we see more and more of this kind of thing in the near future.

"I had to get us out of this," the elderly man said from the other side of the glass at San Diego central jail. "I've never done a bad thing in my life. But when you get desperate, I guess you throw all that sh-- out the window."

Short Refinance is Coming on Strong

I have been talking about short refi's for over a year now and the time has come for my prediction to come true. The investor and servicers have had an attitude adjustment when it comes to short re-fi's. They have come to the conclusion that it may just be a little cheaper for them to drop the balance of th loan so the client can refinance verses doing a short sale or becoming a BPO. I bet you are wanting to know what exactly a short refinance is! A short refinance is when the homeowner gets a new loan based on the current market value and the current lender reduces the balance to an approved LTV based on the new lenders approval.

Freddie Mac Delinquency Rate Hits Record High

The delinquency rate on single-family homes hit a record high 3.13 percent last month at mortgage financier Freddie Mac.

That’s up from 2.95 percent in July and roughly 200 percent higher than the 1.11 percent delinquency rate seen in August 2008, shortly before the company was placed into government conservatorship.

Seven Million Strong Foreclosure Overhang to Depress Home Prices

It seems all the positive housing sentiment is taking a turn for the worse again, thanks in part to a new report from Amherst Securities.

The company’s analysts warned that a massive shadow inventory consisting of seven million homes has yet to hit the market.

The “shadow inventory” refers to homes repossessed by banks and mortgage lenders (or soon to be) that have yet to make it back onto the market.
Once these properties are eventually listed, inventory will swell and home prices will be pressured down; couple in the end of the home buying season and things could get ugly fast.

Interest-Only Mortgage Resets On the Horizon

There was plenty of attention on pay option arms and their nasty resets in months past, but what about slightly more traditional interest-only loans?

A new study from the NY Times/First American Core Logic discovered that there are 2.8 million active interest-only loans worth an estimated $908 billion in the nation.

Of those, $71 billion will reset in the next 12 months, another $100 billion will reset a year later, and $400 billion will reset after mid-2011.

Preserving Homeownership: Progress Needed to Prevent Foreclosures

I. Introduction Chairman Dodd, Ranking Member Shelby, and members of the Committee, thank you for inviting me to testify today regarding the barriers encountered by homeowners attempting to access the Making Home Affordable program and the Hope for Homeowners program.

I am an attorney, currently of counsel to the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC).In my work at NCLC I provide training and support to hundreds of attorneys representing homeowners from all across the country and consequently have heard many, many reports of the difficulties encountered by advocates and homeowners attempting to obtain sustainable loan modifications. For nearly 13 years prior to joining NCLC, I represented lowincome homeowners at Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation in East St. Louis, Illinois. In that capacity, I became intimately familiar with the difficulties in arranging a loan modification, even when it was clearly in the investor’s best interests.
